ABOUT US

Changing Lives Through Sport and Youth Work...

What we do

Support Through Sport is a registered charity which supports young people aged 8-18, diverting them away from negative influences such as youth offending, ASB, violence, gang culture and knife crime. Through an innovative, youth-led approach, Support Through Sport harnesses the power of sport to empower disadvantaged youth and create safer communities, where young people can thrive.

Tranai Todd, 21, is the founder and CEO of Support Through Sport. Tranai founded Support Through Sport at the age of 17 from direct experience of the power that sport and youth work has, in supporting young people to overcome adversity.

The regional organisation, based in Nottingham, delivers sport-based intervention, mentoring, and progressions programmes to thousands of disadvantaged young people, empowering them to develop pro-social behaviours and providing a lasting positive impact.

Our Mission

We believe every young person deserves the chance to grow. Through our physical activity programmes – especially football and boxing – we help them shift their perspectives, build confidence, and develop into motivated role models and leaders. Our goal is to upskill and mentor youth, equipping them with essential skills, attributes, and experiences for lifelong development.

We aim to support the eradication of the negative influences which affect our young people and their communities. Negative influences such as serious violence, gang culture and knife crime are responsible for the loss of young lives across the UK. At Support Through Sport, we have seen first hand the perils of such negative influences and the destructive divide they create in our most disadvantaged communities.

Our theory of change directly outlines how our sport plus approach can have such a life-changing impact for young people at-risk. As a collective, we endeavour to do all that we can to tackle such prevalent societal challenges.

Our Vision

To use the power of sport and youth work combined, to create safer communities, where young people can thrive. We will not stop until all disadvantaged young people have access to quality sport-based youth provision, positive role models and the opportunities they deserve.
